The Australian Institute of Trichology is committed to providing exceptional education in hair science and artistry. AIT education director, Dr. Simone Lee, is a formally qualified trichologist, researcher and trainer. With over thirty years of experience in the cosmetology industry working at top levels across multiple disciplines, Simone is one of the most awarded and regarded professionals in Australia.

 

Trichology is the scientific study of the human hair and scalp. Disorders such as hair loss, hair thinning, psoriasis and numerous other hair and scalp concerns are addressed at the cosmetic level using a holistic in depth approach. The AIT works  in conjunction with leading pharmaceutical scientists, cosmetic companies and specialised laboratories. Our education students are provided with:

  • the latest hair science technical information,  
  • how to effectively work with formally qualified trichologists and other health care professionals and 
  • methods to conduct superior hair and scalp analysis and treatment services for their guests. 

Trichology education includes:

  • advanced trichoscopic evaluation of hair and scalp,
  • advanced scientific hair and scalp therapy services,
  • the use of augmented technology methods for in salon hair styling and artistic services,
  • overview of various hair replacement treatments (extensions, wigs),
  • hair colour treatment types,  camouflage methods and enhancement options for guests who suffer from various hair and scalp contra – indications. 
  • hair science business strategies.

Hair tissue mineral analysis (HMA) testing recommendations and scientific analysis of HMA results, are just a few of the many subjects discussed during AIT education seminars.
